Arkansas Sheriffs Wives Association Instructions for Scholarship Application Qualifications for those seeking scholarship:
Planning to attend college, graduate school, technical school or other qualifying education institution in Arkansas Fall Semester
Proof academic merit via attached transcript high school or college transcript (applications without a transcript will be disqualified)
High school graduate or equivalent (attached proof is required)
Must be the dependent child, step-child, or adopted child of a CURRENT Arkansas Sheriff or sworn CERTIFIED Full-Time deputy serving in the state of Arkansas excluding any detention center administration/staff and civilian employee dependents
We hold our Honor Guard to a high Standard and members are required to make a 2yr commitment.

VINELink is an online resource that allows you to search for information regarding an offender, case, or probationer/parolee. It is provided as a compliment to the existing VINE service in your area. This site as well as the VINE service is provided to you by the state of Arkansas in an effort to help keep the public safe and informed. You’ll also notice that we have provided a list of various victim resource services that are available to you in the state of Arkansas. We encourage you to use these resources.
The Arkansas VINE Service provides court event information on criminal cases handled by participating Prosecuting Attorneys. However, there are some counties where the Arkansas VINE Service is receiving information on criminal court cases from Circuit Courts. Some Circuit Courts are sending scheduled events to the Arkansas VINE Service while some are unable to send any events such as trial dates. Registration for notification on court cases are available from participating Prosecuting Attorneys and Circuit Courts where event information is received by Arkansas VINE.
The Ranch’s program is centered on the belief that abused, neglected or abandoned children – all children for that matter – must establish a nurturing relationship with at least one caring adult to become a healthy productive adult themselves. We know from our own experiences that abused and neglected children often move from depression to despair to rage before coming here. Admission records indicate that 90 percent of children in the residential program are victims of physical, emotional or sexual abuse. Many are not known to be victims upon admission, but instances of abuse are revealed after they have been at the Ranch for a while as a result of us learning more about them.
The road to recovery for our children is often long and bumpy. Therefore, we make a commitment to every child who enters our residential program – a commitment that extends from the board of directors to management personnel, administrative staff, houseparents, support staff and volunteers. We pledge to open our lives, and ultimately our hearts, to these special children and to support their aspirations for “as long as it takes,” — knowing all the while that we have to believe in them long before they are able to believe in themselves.
A unique aspect of the Ranch is that there is no “up and out” philosophy. In most programs, children “age out” at 18. Children admitted to our residential program may remain through post-secondary education – until they are socially and financially prepared for independence and have stable employment.
Since 1976, the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches have provided hope and healing to children who, through no fault of their own, needed a place to call home. Since it was founded by the Sheriffs of Arkansas, the Ranch has been home to more than 2,100 boys and girls from every corner of the state. The Arkansas Sheriffs’ Association Honor Guard is an organization made up of deputies from all over Arkansas who have volunteered their time to serve as stewards to law enforcement functions throughout the State. These deputies are tireless in their efforts of bringing a formal sense of unity from law enforcement officers to funerals of deceased officers, law enforcement graduations, and various other events which call upon services of the ASA Honor Guard throughout the year.
